Peg Loom Weaving

2 Day Course at the Wild Wool Workshop, Ennerdale

From 9am- 4pm

On the Peg Loom weaving course you will be learn to create 2 different shaped floor mats (semi circular and rectangular). Using Herdwick wool from the oldest flocks in the country you will learn process the fibres, and prepare them into a batt, sliver or roving prior to weaving.

The hand-made peg looms are warped with linen and the prepared fibres woven around the upright pegs to create a weft faced textile. The warp thread is drawn up through the woven fabric to secure the weft and create a beautiful heirloom rug.
