Come to the Wild Wool Workshop and see the ancient crafts of spinning and weaving taking place on traditional wheels and looms. You can watch as hand-made rugs are woven, yarn is spun and wool is transformed into beautiful textile products.  You can also take part in courses to learn the ancient arts of spinning, weaving and other wool crafts.

Courses to learn spinning, weaving and other wool crafts are held throughout the year in the atmospheric surroundings of the 500 year old Wild Wool Barn. You can learn the versatility of the Herdwick wool with Spinning, Weaving, Felting, Crochet and a host of other crafts using the local Herdwick wool from one of the oldest flocks in the country. 

The workshop is open to visitors most weekday afternoons, however, please phone before you visit, just in case I am not at work. (Tel 01946 861270)

There are no retail sales from the workshop but many items are available to purchase from my Etsy shop – follow the link to the gallery and on-line shop, you may just find a Herdwick souvenir made from the Herdwick sheep that inspired Beatrix Potter.
